During National Engineers Week (February 19 – 26), Orion awarded the recipient of the Diamond Award to recognize one our engineers for their significant technical and engineering accomplishments throughout this past year. Please join us in congratulating David Folk, PE on being named the 2023 recipient of the Diamond Award.

David joined the Company in 2014 and holds the position of Senior Engineer for Orion’s Engineering segment based in our Schneider Engineering & Consulting Tampa office. David led the Reynolds Pier Project Team, exhibiting excellent leadership, expertise, innovation, and a commitment to engineering excellence. His creative and innovative thinking, combined with open communication with the Client, enabled the team to successfully execute the project and to establish a strong presence in Jamaica. The team’s engineering services included the design of seven new Mono-pile Breasting Dolphins, six pile supported concrete mooring dolphins, a new eastern access trestle, and several miscellaneous minor appurtenances, all designed to reduce the loads on the existing structure and successfully berth large cruise ships. As a result of PAJ’s satisfaction with the engineering services, they nominated the Reynolds Pier Project for “Project of the Year” at the 2017 Jamaican Institute of Engineers Annual Gala.

Through Mr. Folk’s leadership and commitment to engineering excellence, Schneider Engineering & Consulting has helped established Jamaica as one of the top cruise destinations in the world.
